{"id":74499,"date":"2025-05-08T17:12:35","date_gmt":"2025-05-08T23:12:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pueblahoy.com.mx\/?p=74394"},"modified":"2025-05-08T17:12:35","modified_gmt":"2025-05-08T23:12:35","slug":"papa-leon-xiv-encubrio-casos-de-abuso-sexual-en-peru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/grupohoymexico.com\/puebla\/2025\/05\/08\/papa-leon-xiv-encubrio-casos-de-abuso-sexual-en-peru\/","title":{"rendered":"Papa Le\u00f3n XIV: \u00bfencubri\u00f3 casos de abuso sexual en Per\u00fa?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Horas despu\u00e9s de ser elegido como nuevo l\u00edder de la <a href=\"https:\/\/pueblahoy.com.mx\/visita-claudia-sheinbaum-al-papa-francisco-en-el-vaticano\/\">Iglesia Cat\u00f3lica<\/a>, el <strong>papa Le\u00f3n XIV<\/strong>, antes conocido como <strong>Robert Prevost<\/strong>, enfrenta acusaciones por su presunta <strong>omisi\u00f3n en casos de abuso sexual durante su gesti\u00f3n en Per\u00fa<\/strong>. La organizaci\u00f3n <strong>Red de Sobrevivientes de Abuso por Sacerdotes<\/strong> (<strong>SNAP<\/strong>) present\u00f3 una denuncia formal en su contra ante el Vaticano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seg\u00fan SNAP, Prevost permiti\u00f3 que sacerdotes se\u00f1alados por abuso permanecieran en funciones sin notificar a las autoridades civiles ni activar mecanismos formales de investigaci\u00f3n. Uno de los casos m\u00e1s citados es el de Eleuterio V\u00e1squez Gonz\u00e1les, acusado por Ana Mar\u00eda Quispe y sus hermanas, quienes aseguran que la Di\u00f3cesis de Chiclayo no emprendi\u00f3 acciones suficientes tras las denuncias de 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las v\u00edctimas afirman que el hoy Papa no abri\u00f3 una investigaci\u00f3n seria, no las cit\u00f3 a declarar y que el expediente enviado a Roma fue incompleto. Tambi\u00e9n denuncian que el sacerdote en cuesti\u00f3n continu\u00f3 oficiando misa, lo que respaldaron con fotograf\u00edas como prueba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 se sabe sobre las denuncias contra el Papa Le\u00f3n XIV?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Las acusaciones m\u00e1s antiguas contra <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mundoejecutivocdmx.com\/breaking-news\/perfil-robert-prevost-el-nuevo-papa-leon-xiv-y-cercano-a-america-latina\/\">Prevost<\/a> se remontan al a\u00f1o 2000, cuando, como provincial agustino, permiti\u00f3 que James Ray, un sacerdote con 13 denuncias previas, residiera en un convento cercano a una escuela en Chicago. En ambos casos, SNAP sostiene que hubo omisi\u00f3n y encubrimiento, lo cual contradice el esp\u00edritu del decreto &#8220;Vos estis lux mundi&#8221;, impulsado por el Papa Francisco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pesar de las acusaciones, varias fuentes niegan que el hoy Papa haya actuado con negligencia. El periodista peruano Pedro Salinas, conocido por sus investigaciones sobre abusos en el Sodalicio de Vida Cristiana, calific\u00f3 las acusaciones como infundadas y asegur\u00f3 que no existe evidencia documentada que implique directamente a Le\u00f3n XIV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La Di\u00f3cesis de Chiclayo tambi\u00e9n neg\u00f3 las acusaciones y asegur\u00f3 que tom\u00f3 medidas preventivas, aunque las v\u00edctimas afirman que no fueron parte del proceso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mientras tanto, SNAP exige que en sus primeros 100 d\u00edas de pontificado, el papa Le\u00f3n XIV impulse una Comisi\u00f3n Global de la Verdad, adem\u00e1s de establecer una pol\u00edtica de tolerancia cero ante cualquier caso de abuso sexual dentro del clero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Las denuncias se han hecho p\u00fablicas en medios como Info Vaticana y The Pillar, lo que ha generado un debate internacional sobre el pasado del nuevo pont\u00edfice.
