En su primera temporada, sorprendi\u00f3 al alinear a un joven <strong>Michael Schumache<\/strong>r en el <strong>Gran Premio de B\u00e9lgica <\/strong>de ese mismo a\u00f1o. Fue campe\u00f3n de <strong>karting<\/strong> en Irlanda en 1971 y compiti\u00f3 en <strong>F\u00f3rmula 3<\/strong> y <strong>F\u00f3rmula 2<\/strong> durante la d\u00e9cada de 1970. No obstante, su pasi\u00f3n por los motores lo llev\u00f3 a fundar su propia escuder\u00eda, <strong>Jordan F1<\/strong>, que se convirti\u00f3 en un trampol\u00edn para m\u00faltiples pilotos que
